Creating an Intelligent Enterprise Network : Lessons Learned from over 250 SDN Deployments
Speaker: Don Clark, Director, NEC Corporation of America
Network administrators face many challenges, as complexity and critical demands strain today’s networks. SDN addresses many of these challenges, including performance constraints, enterprise wide security, interoperability and manageability, through new and enhanced capabilities. In this presentation, Don Clark, Director for NEC, will share the insights and lessons learned by NEC from over 250 SDN deployments.

1:25-1:45pm
It’s Not About More Nerd-Knobs
Speaker: Bryan Stiekes, Fellow & VP Open Systems & Solutions, HPE Networking
The intersection of evolving highly programmable and transparent network operating systems, disaggregated network control planes, and next generation management monitoring & analytics systems lead to dramatically simpler, auto-tuning and auto-healing networks. OpenSwitch is shown as an example of an open system that can let monitoring systems and disaggregated control planes see every blink of a LED and intervene in any communication inside the system.

Using NFV to deploy new revenues generating VAS
Speaker: Nir Halachmi, Network Research Product Management, Huawei
Service providers are facing the problems of becoming a connectivity provider where most of the value will go to the OTT.
Service providers today are looking for new revenue sources and new services they can offer to up sale and increase the ARPU. In this talk we will highlight how to harness NFV technology and deploy new revenue generating Value Added Services (VAS). By providing these services from within the network, the service providers will gain competitive advantage compared to the OTT. We will deep dive into a use case of providing Desktop as a Service (DaaS) services using NFV and SDN technologies and highlight the benefits and concept of such a service.
